Care Package Program

How It Works:

• Donations: Starting today, you can make donations in person or online. Every dollar goes directly into our Community Care Kitty.

• Free Food Bundles: Every Tuesday or Wednesday, we will create bundles using the donations we receive, plus our own contributions. I will announce how many bundles we have available, and anyone in need can stop by. If we have them, they’re yours—no questions asked. These bundles will be filled with essential items to help get through the week.

• Supporting Local Food Banks: If there are any bundles left at the end of the week, we’ll pass them along to our partner food banks on Thursday.

Your generous donations make this possible! Whether it’s a few dollars or more, every bit helps us provide these essential bundles to those who need them most.

Please Note:

We will never ask you directly if you want to donate. We won’t be pushy about it, and we don’t want you to feel obligated. This program is all about giving back to our community, not about extorting you out of your change. It’s also not about tax benefits. I want to be transparent with you—I’ve never claimed any of these donations on my taxes. Whether it’s because I need a new accountant or simply because the way I donate doesn’t qualify, I’m not sure. But what I do know is that this isn’t about a tax play like you might see with big companies. It’s purely about making a real difference in the lives of our neighbors.
